New Year, New Opportunities: A Fresh Start for Growth and Impact in 2024

Happy New Year, friends!

Seeing so many of you at the Symposium this year was such a joy. As some of you know, this year’s theme was “Come Lord Jesus.” I left the Symposium filled with a sense of purpose and anticipation for all that this new year has to hold for each of us. I do not see 2024 as just another year on the calendar but as a God-given opportunity to grow and transform both personally and professionally. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work, fueled by faith and a commitment to make a real difference. Let’s embrace these opportunities with the same passion and dedication we bring to our missions, and together, we’ll see God do remarkable things!

I have three challenges/opportunities I would like to share with you.

First, I would like to encourage each of us to renew our commitment to relational donor engagement.

The dawn of 2024 marks a new year and a renewed opportunity for us to be involved with fundraising and donor relations. Often, we get caught up in the transactional nature of fundraising, viewing it as just a means to an end. This year, I challenge us to shift our perspective and approach donors with a relational mindset.

Imagine the impact we could have if we saw each donor not just as a source of funds but as a potential partner in our ministry. By committing to pursuing these relationships, we create a community of supporters who are invested not just financially but emotionally and spiritually in our cause. This approach is not only more fulfilling but also more sustainable in the long run.

Who can you text or call today to say thank you and start a new rhythm of relational engagement?

Second, I would like to challenge all of us to find hope in renewal as “God Makes All Things New.”

Maintaining hope can be challenging in a world often overshadowed by pain and suffering. However, we are reminded in Revelation 21:5 that God is in the business of making all things new. This powerful verse offers us solace and strength, especially in adversity.

As we step into 2024, let us hold onto this promise. It’s a reminder that no matter our challenges, there is always hope for renewal and transformation. This belief should be at the heart of our endeavors, inspiring us to work towards a future that reflects the renewal and hope we are promised.

How can you create new rhythms this year to spend time each day with the Lord, reflecting on God’s grace and love?

Third, be encouraged by the revamped Taking Donors Seriously® Podcast!

I am thrilled to announce the launch of our revamped Taking Donors Seriously® Podcast in 2024. This year, we’re taking our podcast to new heights by twice a month featuring interviews with leaders from the ministries we serve.

Our very first episode, launched today, features a riveting conversation with David Brickner, the CEO of Jews for Jesus. This episode sets the tone for what you can expect from our podcast this year – insightful, inspiring, and impactful discussions with those at the forefront of their respective missions.

You can join the conversation by listening to the podcast here.

In closing, 2024 stands before us, brimming with possibilities. As we navigate this year, let’s embrace these new opportunities with open hearts and minds. By committing to relational donor engagement, holding on to hope in the face of adversity, and being encouraged by insightful leaders like David, we set the stage for a year of significant growth and meaningful impact.

Stay tuned for more updates, and here’s to a transformative and impactful 2024!
