Vince Burens brings more than two decades of experience in fundraising, strategic planning, and executive leadership to his role at The FOCUS Group. As Chief Operating Officer and Senior Consultant, Vince plays a critical role in advising mission-driven organizations through complex growth and development initiatives.
Before joining The FOCUS Group, Vince spent over two decades in collegiate ministry, serving in leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer, President, and ultimately CEO. As CEO, he led strategic planning that helped transform the organization from a regional operation into a national presence on more than 150 campuses, working closely with local churches. Under his leadership, the organization also launched and completed its first comprehensive fundraising campaign.
Vince is a recognized leader in faith-based innovation, having been the first Scale Fellow
with Praxis Labs. He also chairs the board of a regional Fellows program and serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations focused on young adult faith and leadership development.
He holds a B.A. in Urban Development, Political Science, and Economics from the University of
Pittsburgh and has pursued graduate studies at Trinity Anglican Seminary, where he currently
serves as an adjunct professor.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vince is a third-generation winemaker, a seasoned
soccer coach with over 20 years of experience at both club and high school levels, and an avid golfer (even if it’s just a good walk spoiled). He and his wife, Lori, are proud parents of two children.
